AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafter/Designer

Job Description

The AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafter/Designer should have experience with Civil /Land Development, and Utility design projects to include Temporary Traffic Control (TTC, fks MOT). The CADD Designer/Drafter will also include preparation of designs and layouts with working knowledge of site civil for site development projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CADD system, plotters or printers and other equipment associated with the production of design packages.
• Work with engineers and designers within the company.
• Perform design tasks required for effective and efficient delivery under the minimal direction of senior engineer, a senior designer and project manager.
• Conduct or participate in internal drawing and CADD modeling (Civil 3D) design reviews.
• Prepare civil engineering design drawings from inception to closure.
• Prepare drawings for compliance to CADD standards, specifications, title block & issue block requirements, and adequately prepare consistent deliverables which represent the design intent, and SOW requirements.
• Prepare diagrams or exhibits, using CADD 3D-modeling software (Civil 3D), as needed for Engineering design projects.
• Complete grading plans using Civil 3D and calculate cut and fill volumes, prepare plan and Profile, cross-sections Understand drawing review process, recognize dimensional conflicts, and provide solutions.
• Verify survey data information provided for use.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely engineering estimates based on review of
• SOW documents, specifications, and client instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within drafting required.
• Strong Civil 3D experience highly preferred.
• An associate degree or vocational school training in drafting is preferred.
• Must have a working knowledge of the various CAD systems (Auto-CAD, Civil 3D, and others as required) for both software and hardware requirements.
• Self-motivated, driven, reliable, and good communication skills.
